Bookings

Move or cancel a booking

Dragging on the calendar, rescheduling from the booking, and what the family is told.

From the calendar

Drag a booking to a new time, or drag its bottom edge to change how long it runs. It saves as you drop it. Keyboard works too: focus a booking and use the arrow keys — up and down move it in fifteen-minute steps, left and right move it a day.

If the new time overlaps something else, the move still stands and we tell you what it now overlaps. That is a fact for you to act on, not a rule Sitterz enforces on your business.

What the family gets

A reschedule emails them the old time and the new one, on your clock. A cancellation emails them too. Neither is a marketing message and neither waits for an automation to be switched on.

When a family moves it themselves

Families can reschedule from their own account, and they are only offered times that are genuinely open. If somebody takes a slot in the seconds between, they are told it was just taken and asked to pick another.

Late cancellations, and what they cost

A family cancelling from their own account within 24 hours of the start is treated as a late cancellation, and the fee is worth a fifth of the booking. Both numbers are fixed for every business on Sitterz today — there is no cancellation-policy setting, and nothing in Settings moves them.

The fee is then worked out and goes nowhere. It is not shown to the family, not added to an invoice, and not charged to a card. If you hold a family to a late-cancellation fee, you are the one collecting it. Read the window as a label on the cancellation rather than as money that has already moved.
