Deleting your account
Last updated September 1, 2026 · version 2026-09-01
How to delete your Sitterz login, what that removes, and what stays with the business you book with.
You can delete your login yourself, from inside your account, at any time. The business you book with keeps its own records — bookings, invoices, visit notes and messages — because those are theirs, not ours. This page explains both halves and how to ask about the rest.
1. Deleting your login, from your account
Sign in, open Your account → Profile, and choose Delete your login. You will be asked to type DELETE and, if you sign in with a password, to enter it. The deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
If you signed in with Google and never set a password, typing DELETE is enough — there is no password to ask you for.
If another adult in your household also has a login with the same business, deleting yours leaves theirs working. Notification settings and registered devices belong to the household, so they stay with them — you can remove a phone from Notifications on the phone itself.
2. What deleting your login removes
Everything that is purely a way of signing in:
- Your email and password for this business
- Your two-factor secret and any recovery codes
- Any Google account connected to your login
- Push notification registrations for your devices
- Your saved notification preferences
3. What it does not remove, and why
The business you book with keeps its own records. Sitterz is the software they run; they decide what happens to the information in it, and we cannot delete a business's records because one person asked us to. Deleting your login does not remove:
- Your bookings and their history
- Your invoices and payment records
- Visit records, notes and photos the business keeps
- Messages between you and the business
- The child or pet profile information you gave the business
Some of it they are required to keep — financial records in particular are kept for years under tax law, whoever asks.
4. Asking for the rest to be deleted
Ask the business directly — they are the ones who can decide. If you would rather ask us, or you cannot reach them, email support@sitterz.com with the name of the business and the email address you used. We will pass the request on and confirm what happened.
If you have already deleted the app or lost access to your login, that email is the way to reach us.
5. If you run a business on Sitterz
Closing a whole workspace is different from deleting one login: it ends access for your staff and your clients, and some records have to be kept even after it closes. Email support@sitterz.com and we will walk it through with you rather than doing it on a single click.
